Lake County Honor Guard Detail

The Lake County Honor Guard was founded in 1988.  Our mission is to provide burial rites for Honorably Discharged veterans from all service branches.  This mission continues to this day by providing services within all Lake and Sumter county cemeteries and at the Bushnell National Cemetery.  This is a full service and includes a Commander, Chaplain, Flag Folding, Taps and Rifle Salute.

We are looking for veterans to participate in the Honor Guard to continue to provide this final honor for veterans. We currently perform between one to three services a month. Each service requires eight veterans. Members are contacted for their availability for a scheduled service. Since not all members are available for all services, we need additional volunteers.

If you are interested in assisting in providing this valuable service to our departed veterans and their families please call either
